PAYE Calculator 2026/27
Enter your monthly or annual salary to see your PAYE, UIF and take-home pay on the 2026/27 SARS tables. Add retirement annuity contributions and medical aid to see how they lower your tax.
How it works: Your salary is annualised and taxed on the 2026/27 brackets. SARS then subtracts your age-based rebate and any medical scheme fees tax credit. Retirement fund contributions are deducted from income first, up to 27.5% of income and R430 000 a year. UIF of 1% is then taken from your gross pay, up to the monthly earnings ceiling.
Frequently asked questions
Why did my take-home pay change in March 2026?
The 2026/27 brackets and rebates were raised by about 3.4% for inflation, the first adjustment in two years. Most employees pay slightly less PAYE than in 2025/26.
Does PAYE include UIF?
No. UIF is a separate 1% deduction. This calculator shows both.
Is PAYE my final tax?
Not always. If you have other income, medical expenses or RA contributions your employer doesn't know about, your annual return can result in a refund or an amount owing.
