SARS VAT Registrations

SARS VAT Registrations

Value-Added Tax (VAT) is a tax collected by businesses on behalf of SARS on goods and services sold. Once registered, your business charges VAT on sales (output tax) and can claim back VAT paid on business expenses (input tax).

VAT registration is compulsory when your business turnover exceeds R1 million in any 12-month period. You can also register voluntarily if your turnover exceeds R50,000 per year which is often worth doing to claim input VAT refunds.

Our team manages the full SARS VAT registration process on your behalf. This includes preparing and submitting all documentation, registering a Public Officer if required, and liaising directly with SARS. Typical turnaround is approximately 30 business days, though complex cases may take longer depending on SARS processing times.
