The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) is South Africa’s regulatory body for company registrations. Every business that operates as a private company (Pty Ltd) or non-profit company (NPC) must be registered with CIPC under the Companies Act, 2008.
Registration gives your business legal status. It can open a bank account, enter contracts, apply for tenders, and be recognised as a separate legal entity from its owners.
